1988 – Beginning of BOPP production in Totoral/Argentina:
- Bruckner technology.
1989 – Beginning of metallized BOPP production:
- Galileu Metallizer (3 thousand ton/year capacity).
1993 – Beginning of Line 2 operations in Totoral:
- Bruckner technology.
- Initial production capacity of 5 thousand ton/year.
1996 – Beginning of Line 3 operations in Totoral:
- Bruckner technology.
- Initial production capacity of 12 thousand ton/year.
- ISO 9000 Certification - Argentina.
1997 – Acquisition of the Brazilian Koppol manufacturer of flexible films in Mauá/Brazil:
- Growth in Vitopel's total production capacity to 33 thousand ton/year.
1999 – Growth in the production capacity of the Mauá and Totoral units:
- Upgrade at Mauá and Totoral units increases capacity to 38 thousand ton/year.
2002 – Beginning of Line 5 operations, in Mauá:
- Bruckner technology.
- Considered the fastest BOPP line production in the world. Initial production capacity of 25 thousand ton/year.
- Acquisition of a Jumbo storage – intermediate inventory of jumbo reel, increasing market service flexibility.
- Installed production capacity of 25 thousand ton/year.
2004 – ISO 14000 Certification:
- The Brazilian Vitopel unit attains ISO 14000 Certification.
2005 – Acquisition of EBFF by Votorantim and ISO 14000 Certification in Argentina:
- Growth in production capacity to 127,000 ton/year.
- Vitopel becomes 5th largest BOPP company in the world with nine production lines, a Pilot Line and four metallizers.
- The company has the only Development Center and Pilot Line of the Southern Hemisphere.
- Attainment of ISO 14000 Certification in Argentina.
- TPM Certification - Argentina.
2006 | New Product Nomenclature:
- Willing to optimize the product catalogue and to make it more practical, Vitopel has changed the products codes.
- Vitopel re-structure the business units by its applications:
Packaging, for conversion, over-wrapping and tabacco;
Industry & Graphic, to laminate graphic products and adhesive tapes;
Label and Self-Adhesive labels, to provide protection, productivity, with a great appearance.
2007 | EBFF is incorporated by Vitopel:
- On 06/01/2007 Vitopel has incorporated EBFF, becoming one, called Vitopel do Brasil Ltda.
2008 | Vitopel announces an investiment of US$ 55 millions:
- Vitopel plans to invest US$ 50 millions in a new productive line, and US$ 5,5 millions in a lamination machine and unexplored niches.
